Colorado Springs Take 2

Let's just say that blogger is doing very bizarre things to my format right now. Let's also say that we went camping last weekend with Grandma Kim, Grandpa Manuel, Kiana, Grandma Cathryn and Kurt (Grandma Cathryn's boooooyyyyyfriend). It was so, so, much fun. Really, the stuff that the best childhood memories are made of!

The picture above really does no justice to the hilariousness (pretend that's a word) that was this whole scene. Milo: taking care of business in the outhouse forEVER. Spencer: standing outside the outhouse for moral support forEVER. That Guy: standing behind Spencer in what he perceives to be the line forEVER. That Guy: Not just going in the unoccupied women's stall. That Guy: Not going to one of the 6 other bathrooms in the campground. The Rest of Us: laughing like a bunch of kids from our campground. Most awkward situation ever.

We went to the top of the earth on this trip. Or pretty close. We drove to the summit of Pike's Peak. Not sure that I care to do that again. Between the windy road and the vertigo (from the sheer dropoffs on the side of the road), I thought I was going to puke. The "world-famous donuts" were fantastic. Unless you are Isabel. Then they were disappointing.

If you've camped with Spencer, you know that a great deal of time is spent perfecting (read: obessing over) the perfect s'mores and the perfect s'mores fire.

Cathryn was kind enough to Vanna White the view from the Pike's Peak Highway. A storm rolled in just as we hit the top...bummer but still cool to be walking around in the clouds. Literally.

Grandma Cathryn led many a hiking excursion. Around the lake. Through Garden of the Gods. Etc.
